These terms apply to your use of chatshortlist.com. By using the site, creating an account or running a scan, you agree to them.
What this site is
ChatShortlist scores a web page for AI search readiness: we fetch the URL you submit the way an AI crawler would and grade what comes back. Scanning is free and does not require an account. Joining the waitlist subscribes you to email about our forthcoming monitoring product. None of this creates a client relationship or any obligation on either side.
Accounts and reports
An account is optional. Without one you may run a limited number of scans per hour, and each report is kept for a short period and readable only from the browser that ran it. With one, reports are kept indefinitely, the limit is higher, and you can create and revoke links that let other people read a report.
Reports are private by default. Anyone holding a share link can read the report it points at, so treat those links as you would a password. If you have an account, keep your credentials to yourself, give us an address you actually control, and do not share an account across an organisation in order to work around rate limits. We may suspend an account, or refuse scans from an address, that is being used to abuse the scanner. You can delete your account at any time.
What a score is and is not
A score measures technical readiness at one URL at one moment: what our crawler could fetch, parse and quote. It is not an audit of your whole site, not legal or professional advice, and not a prediction. AI assistants produce probabilistic output that changes with every model update, and no provider — including us — controls what they say. Nothing here guarantees that an assistant will recommend your business or cite any particular page.
Accuracy of information
Every check reports what we observed so you can verify it yourself. Examples shown on this site, including any depiction of an assistant response or a sample report, are illustrative and do not represent a specific customer result. We try to keep the site accurate but make no warranty that it is complete or current.
Acceptable use of the scanner
Scan sites you own, work on, or have a legitimate reason to assess — a competitor's public home page is fair, anything behind a login is not. Do not use the scanner as a general-purpose proxy, to pull content in bulk, to reach internal or private addresses, or to generate load against a third party. Do not attempt to work around the rate limits, submit someone else's email address, or access this site by automated means beyond ordinary search and AI crawling. We may suspend access for any of the above.
Third-party names
ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Claude are trademarks of their respective owners. ChatShortlist is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. We reference them descriptively, to identify the assistants our work targets.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it.
